Ministry Purpose: This position plays a significant role in achieving the religious mission of the clinic and, thus, has a ministry purpose.
Qualifications:
1. Agrees with the clinic’s statement of faith, mission statement, and code of Christian conduct.
2. Is dependable, stable, and capable of committing to this position’s responsibilities and duties.
3. Expresses a desire to reach at-risk clients considering abortion.
4. Believes in the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception through natural death.
5. Has a sincere, mature faith and can share that faith with others.
6. Holds a current license in good standing with their applicable licensing agency. (i.e., the State Nursing Board for RNs or a current registry and OB credential if an RDMS)
7. Exhibits strong interpersonal, spiritual, and administrative skills, takes initiative, and is flexible.
8. Has good eyesight or corrected vision, steady hands, and a good bedside manner.
9. Skilled with current technology and able to learn new skills quickly.
10. Can obtain education, training, and documentation of competency to perform a limited obstetric ultrasound. This shall include didactic and clinical training per AWHONN guidelines and completion of NIFLA’s Institute of Limited Obstetric Ultrasound.
11. Bilingual proficiency (Spanish) is required.
12. Able to commute to provide medical team coverage at both ALC locations (Shelbyville and Shepherdsville).
Reports To: Nurse/Clinic Manager
Time Commitment: As per the hiring agreement.
Responsibilities & Duties (Must Fit Into Scope of Practice*):
1. Works with clinic staff to assure that clients are receiving the best medical, nursing, and psychosocial care possible.
2. Performs physical examinations within their scope of practice, such as limited obstetric ultrasound, pregnancy tests, etc.
3. Grows in knowledge and skills competence for medical procedures performed.
4. Reinforce the humanity of the unborn child with the client.
5. Provides spiritual leadership to ensure the Godly mission of the organization.
6. Ensures that OSHA and privacy guidelines are followed.
7. Completes necessary forms and charting, including a pregnancy test verification letter.
8. Follows up with clients as directed by policies and procedures.
9. Provides education for clients to develop an understanding of their health condition, including physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
10. Shares the gospel with clients and prays with them as appropriate.
11. Monitors inventory of supplies, medical paperwork, prenatal vitamins, client bags, and brochures. Restocks as n eeded and submits supply order request to nurse/clinic manager when necessary.
12. Is familiar with the Medical Policies and Procedure Manual and upholds the standards within.
*An RDMS’s scope of practice would generally exclude them from performing STI testing and treatment in the clinic.
