Nature Craft – Ojo de Dios: Red Orchard Park - Saturday January 11, 2014 2:00pm-4:00pm
The second Saturday of the month is Nature Craft Day. We have local guests come in and help kids of all ages make something fun. On January 11th anytime from 2pm until 4pm, Amy Scrogham will demonstrate how to make an “Ojo de Dios” or “God’s Eye”. The Ojo de Dios is an ancient form of weaving that has roots with the Huichol Indians of the Sierra Madre Mountains but has been adopted my many cultures. It symbolizes the power of seeing and understanding unseen things. The four points of the crossed sticks represent earth, air, water, and fire. What a great craft to make to help remind us of all those upcoming goals.
