President Trump signed memorandum to extend unemployment benefits
  • Friday Kentucky's state application to bring additional federal aid for unemployment was approved
  • Loss wages program will give recipients additional $400
  • Claims from July 26 - August 15th will received additional funding
  • Will not expect funds to be dispersed until early September
 
Under executive order, landlords must give a 30 day notice of an intent to evict for nonpayment
  • Cannot charge penalty, late fees or interest
  • previous executive order stated no fees assessed from 3/26/20 - 12/31/20
 
CARES Act funds for Eviction Relief Funding
  • Will be able to reimburse eligible landlords for missed payments
  • Can start applying September 9th
 
Fall Sports can resume
  • KHSAA voted 16-2 to allow practice for cross country, field hockey, football, soccer and volleyball
  • Season can begin on September 7th and September 11th for football
 
Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center Update
  • 9 veterans and 1 staff tested positive
  • Veterans were sent to Appalachian Regional Health Care

"Last Mile" program
  • Last Mile program teamed with the CARES Act to provide internet access to students for less than $10 a month for the next 2-3 school years

Executive Order signed on 8-25-20
  • 646 individuals will be set to receive commutation with order
  • Currently as of July 6th, 1,171 inmates have been released
 
$3,545,027 has been donated to the Team Kentucky Fund
 
3 economic development projects bringing in 258 new full time jobs and $32.65 million in investments to Kentucky
  • Clermont Distilling Co in Bullitt County is a $13.4 million investment bringing in 22 full time jobs average pay at $56/hour
  • HVAC Distributing in Graves County is bringing in 175 full time jobs
  • Danieli Corp in Ashland is bringing in 61 full time jobs
