Air Force & Space Force Recruiter in La Grange, KY. Message me and let’s discuss your future!

I am 25 years old and from a small town in South Georgia. My main reasons for joining the Air Force was to provide for my family, be financially stable, and to have a secure job. Since joining, I have received an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Logistics. I've currently been serving for 6 years and have been stationed in South Korea & Warner Robins, Georgia.
My career field before becoming a recruiter was Material Management
which is known as logistics/supply. I volunteered to become a recruiter
because I want to be able to make a difference in people's lives and help others the way that my recruiter helped me. My goal for partnering with the Chamber is to become involved in the community and help out as much as needed.

Hello!

It is that time of year again to collect donations for North Central District Health Department’s (NCDHD) Cribs for Kids Program! There is a strong need for Safe Sleep Education and a safe place for babies to sleep to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) across KY and this program allows NCDHD to offer those things to Shelby, Henry, Spencer, and Trimble Counties in KY! Learn more below:

Let me tell you more details about this amazing program. A Federal grant pays for the salary of Community Health Nurses from NCDHD to provide 15 minutes of safe sleep education and tips & tricks to parent(s)-to-be and then give the parent(s) a FREE crib set. A crib set includes: a crib (pack-n-play), sleep sack, pacifier, children’s book, and safe sleep education material ($113+ value). The crib set is purchased by donations from community members and partners. In addition to paying for licensed provider’s salaries to provide safe sleep education, the Federal Grant also matches every $1 donated to this program to increase the number of crib sets offered back into our counties served by NCDHD! In July 2021 to June 2022 NCDHD gave out 118 crib sets to parent(s)-to-be thanks to our community partners donations!

So, how can you help us keep this program going? Currently there is a wait list for cribs and we need your help! You can donate a specific dollar amount to NCDHD’s Cribs for Kids Program or you can purchase a specific number of cribs (at $113 each) by August 22, 2022. Donations must be in the form of a check to North Central District Health Department and in the memo line of check please put “Cribs for Kids Program.” Every donation requires the attached Agreement Form to be completed and signed by the entity or person making the donation. You can mail the donation to Shelby County Health Department Attention to Community Health Team at 615 11th St. Shelbyville, KY 40065. Another way you can help us, is to spread the word about this program in Shelby, Henry, Spencer, and Trimble Counties in KY and encourage others to donate to this program! We have found there is a high demand for cribs within our counties and we are counting on community members and partners to help us meet this need!

Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I have attached a solicitation letter and agreement form to this email. Please share this email with your coworkers and loved ones. Feel free to reach out to me via my contact information below for any questions.
Take care and have a Happy July!

Sincerely,
Maranda Burgin, RN
Community Health Nurse
North Central District Health Department
Linzie Thomas Craig, 68, of Shelbyville, died on Sunday, the 3rd day of July, 2022, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. Born in Lexington on the 2nd day of October, 1953, he was the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy Smither Craig.  He was a member of the Shelby Christian Church.  He lived life to the absolute fullest, and to the beat of his own drum, and was loved and admired by everyone he encountered, near and far. Growing up on the family farm, he developed an affinity for John Deere tractors from an early age, and developed his interest in tinkering with gadgets. A graduate of Indiana University, he was a proud Hoosier fan. After working in radio for a period of time, he spent the majority of his life in real estate. In addition to continuing the family legacy of Craig Realty, he also taught a variety of classes and served as a mentor to many. Elected as president of Kentucky Realtors in 1997, he was named realtor of the year in 1999, and was awarded the DSA in 2017. During his career, he received all of the most prestigious real estate awards.  A musician at heart, he made many of his closest friends through his passion for music and concerts. He created his own DJ company during his early years, and was always thrilled to be the life of the party for any occasion. In addition to music, his most beloved hobby was a day spent on his boat at Taylorsville Lake while relaxing to Jimmy Buffett tunes and drinking an endless supply of Mountain Dew. The beach was also a favorite destination. He never met a stranger on the water and was a friend to all. His pride and joy was his daughter, McKinzie.

COMMITTEE UPDATE

Membership Committee

The membership committee has been super busy reaching out to all the new members that have joined the Shelby County Chamber in the last month. Making sure to make those connections and see what all our members see as value in being a member. This committee knows the importance of making sure each and every member feels they are able to get out of their membership what they see as important and beneficial.

One of the newest avenues this committee is taking on is educating our members on the different benefits, values, networking opportunities and so much more they have available to them. We have learned over the past few years that many of our members are not aware of some of these benefits, therefore through our newsletter and personal contacts, we are trying hard to educate all our members.

Lastly, this committee is a great opportunity to build long lasting and valuable relationships within the community. From making monthly contacts with members one may not have been able to connect with otherwise to building a relationship with other members, this committee is geared all around making connections. If you would be interested in sitting in on this committee, please let us know and we will send you an invite!

Kentucky’s AFCs include all 11 interstate routes and eight parkways. The charging stations are required to be fast charging and will be located every 50 miles, with four chargers per station. Through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, Kentucky will receive $69.5 million in federal funding over five years for this project. With matching funds, it will be a total of $86.9 million. Gov. Beshear expects Kentucky to qualify for more funds to expand the state’s corridors.

COVID-19 Update
Gov. Beshear said the state is experiencing a slight escalation of cases, with 10,191 cases announced June 27 through July 3. The positivity rate is also experiencing a slight increase at 15.75% on July 3. Overall hospitalizations in Kentucky, as well as the number of patients in the ICU and on a ventilator, are increasing, but they are not rising proportionately to rising cases.
