Hargadon Farms began in 1970 when Frank and Libby Hargadon moved from west Louisville to raise their 6 (soon to be 7) children on a farm and began raising registered Angus cattle. The farm now totals a little over 900 acres and it continues as a family operation with emphasis on quality feeder cattle and replacement heifers . In the last couple of years, the family has started a small pork and goat enterprise to produce locally sourced proteins. Plans are underway to add a forage program to produce high quality hay to sell.

These awards showcase entrepreneurial spirit, community leadership, and policy contributions made by Kentucky manufacturers and their employees to enhance the sustainable, long-term prosperity of Kentucky. We are excited to return to an in-person event in Lexington this year on October 20, 2022.
This year you can nominate a deserving company or employee in a brief process with basic information. KAM will notify nominees or the nominee’s supervisor (employee of the year) and ask them to fill out the Nominee Application form.

The next big adventure will be the Annual Golf Scramble that will take place in September.
September 9th, 2022 at Weissinger Golf Course with a Shotgun start! This is a great opportunity to get together and network in a fun atmosphere playing a little golf! You will be able to register a team of 4 or as an individual to be able to network even more! We will have a hard stop at 72 golfers, so make sure you get registered HERE before all spots fill up. We are also seeking sponsors for the event if you are interested! The team has made sure that sponsorship opportunities are available for everyone with sponsorships beginning at only $100 up to our title sponsor for only $5000. The sooner you register to be a sponsor the more marketing and promotions we will have available for you!

HB 127 expands Tim’s Law in three ways:
  • It allows for expanded access to those who would benefit from outpatient treatment by modifying the criteria;
  • It requires a more thorough evaluation of individuals who may receive court-ordered treatment; and
  • It helps cover additional treatment costs necessary to ensure successful re-entry and participation in the community.
House Bill 562, which helps first responders get the mental health care they need. The bill allows peace officers and firefighters to take 48 hours leave after being involved in a critical incident. These types of incidents cover a range of events from car accidents to the death of a colleague.

Governor declares state of emergency to protect Kentuckians from price gouging
In a further effort to provide relief for Kentuckians from record gas prices, Gov. Andy Beshear today issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency and activated the state’s price gouging laws to protect families from grossly overpriced gasoline and motor fuels.
With the state of emergency in place, consumers in the commonwealth can report price gouging to the Office of the Attorney General and under state law price gougers can be held accountable.
