VACCINE UPDATE
  • Each county health department will start to receive vaccine allocation for 1% of county served population
  • Doses will start February 8, February 15 and February 22 with second doses following four weeks after
  • Kentucky was the first state to start vaccinating educators
  • All schools will be able to reopen March 1st but must offer virtual option the rest of the school year
  • Johnson and Johnson vaccine has been approved and only requiring 1 dose
  • Tuesday (February 2) 600 people scheduled to receive first vaccine with Kroger vaccination site at Alltech Arena, each week they will be able to vaccinate a little over 3,000 individuals
  • Currently taking requests and appointments for Phase 1A and Phase 1B, if additional doses available will be able to schedule for Phase 1C

VACCINE PHASES
The planned vaccination phases are:
  • Phase 1a: Long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, health care personnel
  • Phase 1b: First responders, Kentuckians age >= 70, K-12 school personnel
  • Phase 1c: Kentuckians age >= 60, anyone older than 16 with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) highest-risk conditions for COVID-19, all essential workers
  • Phase 2: Age >= 40
  • Phase 3: Age >= 16
  • Phase 4: Children under the age of 16 if the vaccine is approved for this age group (estimated to comprise 18% of Kentucky’s population)
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  • Governor Beshear filed a lawsuit to stop lawmakers from stripping power READ HERE

  • Signed order to extend the renewal of drivers licenses that are set to expire, will be able to complete by mail
 
  • Discovery Kentucky Initiative partnership with Kentucky Chamber to introduce chamber members to European companies interested in US market. If interested contact Jessica Moore
 
  • Corrections Update
  • 7 out of 14 state prisons have 0 active cases
  • January 20: 2227 active inmates and 169 active staff
  • February 3: 271 active inmates and 55 active staff
  • Kentucky State Reformatory lost 28 of the 43 total inmates lost
  • Kentucky Worker Injury report hit an all time record low
 
  • $2+ million given in grants to help fight violence against women that will go to 28 different agencies across Kentucky

  • Unemployment recipients should have checked their payment method as payments will now only be made by direct deposit or a paper check, prepaid debit cards are now longer and option
