Dear Friend of Little Light House Central Kentucky,

Imagine a world where all children with special needs meet their God-given potential and purpose! That is our vision at Little Light House, and God is leading the way as we move step by step toward the goal.

Just in this second half of the year we have experienced some significant beginnings!

*Our grand opening for our students was June 14

*We got our state licensure

*We have acquired an additional 2000 square feet to expand as we already have a WAITING list!

*We have acquired 2 separate grants which are designated for that expansion

As you might know, we are an affiliate of Little Light House in Tulsa, OK, which has been in existence for 50 years. While we have the same heart and the same mission, we are separate financially. Each affiliate raises their own funds to be able to offer our tuition free services to our students.

Hailie, a 3-year-old, came to us in June. She has a very rare syndrome that causes a variety of deficits, including hearing and vision loss, webbed fingers, and swallowing issues, plus she is also nonverbal and non-ambulatory. Naturally after having numerous hand surgeries, she dislikes using her hands or having anyone touching them; however, when she does use them, she greatly favors her left hand. She typically draws her right hand back toward her body. Since being at Little Light House, Hailie has slowly grown more accustomed to having her hands touched and using her left hand more. Recently, though, she reached out to pick up a favorite doll with her right hand (the therapists had been purposefully working on placing items strictly on her right side for a while)! Normally she would cross mid-line and use her left hand, but this was a huge victory for her! Furthermore, she has purposefully used some pictures and a communication device to identify colors and friends-something she had never done before!

Your generous support helps make these developmental milestones happen! Reaching developmental milestones before the age of 6 are vital for success in school. Come join us make a difference in the lives of children with special needs, their families, and their communities!

You can donate here. Please help us spread the word to your friends and families! If you prefer to donate by check, please send it to:

PO Box 245, Shelbyville KY 40066.

Thank you so very much, and Merry Christmas!

God bless,

Kerry Tanis
