This year’s emcee and keynote speaker is Cheryl Van Stockum, owner of Cheryl Van Stockum Photography. Cheryl will talk about her former career as a nurse in long-term care, how it prepared her for caring for her own parents, and the impact Masonic Home Shelbyville has had on her family.
Masonic Home Shelbyville has been a pillar of the Shelby County community since 1901 when it was originally established as the Old Masons’ Home. In 1993, it transitioned into the states most award-winning long-term care community in Kentucky providing assisted living, personal care, skilled care and rehabilitation services to residents in Shelby County and the surrounding communities.
On average, Masonic spends $220 per day per resident to help fund quality care and housing, as well as living necessities like wheelchairs, glasses, transportation, meals, clothing and peace of mind. All proceeds from the Carefree Living Luncheon will be used to support charitable care at Masonic Home Shelbyville.
Carefree Living Luncheon committee members include: Ron Caughron, SVN Realtors; Belinda Nichols, Traditional Bank; Gary Walls, Shelby Life Magazine; Leon Mooneyhan, Retired Ohio Valley Education Cooperative; Ray Leathers, Shelbyville Chamber, Pat Hargadon, KY Farm Bureau; Aaron Garofola, UofL Health-Shelbyville Hospital; and Van Stockum.
