NEDCON: Operations Manager

Local senior manager responsible for coordination and execution of plant start-up activities, namely implement Production, Procurement & Supply Chain processes. This person will have to run the plant after its go live. Start up the plant & implement all related business processes (local & inter-company) in defined time schedule and thereafter run the plant effectively. Plant start up to be equivalent to team of 15-20 persons.

The Manufacturing Manager will work in close cooperation with NEDCON’s Delivery Team management and appointed specialists in Europe and the US. This person will be responsible for compliance of all activities with agreed project, for keeping the budget, time schedule and quality of realized actions.  After go-live, the person will be responsible for operational management of the plant within boundaries and budgets given by NEDCON management structure. The person will be reporting to Delivery Team management and NEDCON Board.

Job requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.  Fields of study preferred in technical, operational, or business administration/management
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Min 5-10 years of experience in industrial, preferably international business environment 
    • Understanding for steel processing market
    • Understanding for US business environment, preferably with international overlap
    • Has experience/affinity with a company in a production environment in combination with engineering/construction processes
    • Experience in starting up of company / factory preferred
    • Has knowledge on USA steel parts suppliers (preferred Kentucky region)
    • Understands steel parts production techniques
    • Understand local USA supply market of steel products (roll-forming, press-braking, punching, welding)
  • Travel required-Approximately 20%-To domestic suppliers as needed and some international travel
  • Self-starter
  • Team player
  • Good communicative skills; mastery in English language.  Considered a plus if experienced in Dutch or German language 
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Experience in SAP is a plus
