Shelby County Community Theatre announces auditions for its production of HARVEY, Pulitzer Prize winning play written by Mary Chase and directed by Bob Zielinski. HARVEY is the light-hearted story of Elwood P. Dowd and his friend Harvey. Harvey is a Pooka – a mischievous Welsh spirit in the form of a six-foot, 6-inch rabbit in a collar and tie. Strangely, many people have trouble seeing Harvey (Elwood excepted, of course), all of which leads to hilarious complications.
HARVEYauditions will be held at the theater Sunday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 4 – both nights at 7:00 PM. Auditions will be cold readings from the script. Actors are asked to bring a headshot and resume’ if available. The cast calls for six men and six women. Actors who are comfortable playing roles in ages from the early 20’s to 60+ are encouraged to audition. Actors who cannot attend one of the scheduled audition dates can e-mail Bob at bandbzielinski@aol.com to arrange another date and time.
Performance dates for HARVEY are February 15-17 and 22-24, 2013. The theatre is located at 801 Main Street, Shelbyville.
