DESCRIPTION:MarketReady Producer Training Comes to Shelby County \n		\n	\n\n\n \n \n\n \n\n	\n		\n			  \n\n			MarketReady is for food producers interested in selling products to restaurants\, grocers/retailers\, wholesalers\, and\n\n			schools/institutions. \n\n			\n\n			The training is based around best business\n\n			practices by buyers in these markets that are actively seeking to engage local suppliers. MarketReady will help farm vendors selling dairy\, fruits\, meats\, vegetables\, value added products\, and more to create a successful business strategy. The program will provide you with a professional marketing education to improve sales relationships\, and get you up to speed with the latest local food programs and resources. \n\n			 \n\n			Many farmers are hesitant\, or unprepared\, to meet the requirements that these buyers have for their suppliers. Buyers need their suppliers to manage their own food safety\, insurance\, product quality\, traceability risks\, and much more. MarketReady addresses these issues and seeks to educate food suppliers about how to succeed in today's markets\, in order to keep farming.\n\n			 \n\n			The Louisville Small Business Development Center is excited to be participating in MarketReady \n\n			Producer Training Program\, offered by the Food Systems Innovation Center of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture\, Food and Environment.\n\n			 \n\n			UK Extension Professor Tim Woods will present the curriculum and participants will also enjoy a panel of guest speakers.  Meet buyers\, chefs\, and staff from Ky Department of Agriculture\, Ky Center for Agriculture and Rural Development\, and more.\n\n			 \n\n			On Wednesday\, February 18th\, MarketReady will be offered at the Shelby County Extension Office from 9am - 3pm.
