SUMMARY:Living Well with Diabetes Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The local Shelby Diabetes Coalition will begin a six week Standford Diabetes Self-Management Workshop on Thursday\, February 5th from 6-8:30 PM at the Clear Creek Park FAC\, located at 717 Burks Branch Road\, Shelbyville\, KY. The workshop will meet at the same location\, day\, and time each week for six weeks. The workshop is at no cost to participants. These hands-on classes will help anyone that has been diagnosed with diabetes or are caretakers of individuals with diabetes to learn important healthy lifestyle skills to avoid and manage possible complications of diabetes. Participants will discover how to make a personal action plan\, understand nutrition\, fitness and exercise\, manage stress and relaxation techniques\, and proper use of medication. All participants will receive a free book\, CD\, and certificate to share with their doctor upon completion. To register or for more information\, please contact Amanda Strecker at 502-432-3747.
