SUMMARY:Benefit Performance of Young Frankenstein to Benefit Keaton McMurray
DESCRIPTION:Martha Layne Collins High School Drama Department has decided to take to the stage for one additional performance of Young Frankenstein to benefit a fellow Titan who is in a tough battle with cancer. \n\n \n\nOn July 8\, 2013 Keaton McMurray was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma\, bone cancer. He is now 19 years old and a Senior at MLCHS. While he continues to fight\, he remains strong in his faith and courageous against this awful disease. He is an inspiration to our Titan family and our entire community. Keaton's response to his battle against cancer is\, "If you think I'm scared\, you got me all wrong. A little cancer can't break me." \n\n \n\nThe cast and crew decided that this was something that they could do to help Keaton fight on. The benefit performance will be held on Wednesday\, April 22 at 7:00 PM in the Collins Performing Arts Center. \n\n \n\nA suggested minimum donation of $10 will go directly toward the many outstanding medical bills that the family continues to accumulate over this process. Tickets can be purchased at the door. For more information please call (502) 647-1160. \n\n \n\n \n\nYoung Frankenstein is based on the Mel Brooks comedy film\, which is an interesting parody of the classic 1930's horror film. The reluctant heir to the Frankenstein legacy\, Frederick (Jake Waford)\, makes a bumbling transformation into the mad doctor with the help of all the characters from the hit film including Igor (Reilly Boone)\, Frau Blucher (Ruthie Sangster) and his extremely intelligent lab assistant Inga (Katie Hisle). Nearly 45 students have been working since December onstage and behind the scenes to make this show the most unique and entertaining in the school's history.\n\n\n\nWho: Collins High School Drama Department\n\nWhat: A Benefit performance of Young Frankenstein to Benefit Keaton McMurray\n\nWhen: Wednesday\, April 22nd- 7 PM\n\nWhere: Collins High School Performing Arts Center\n\n 801 Discovery Blvd.\n\n Shelbyville\, KY 40065\n\n \n\nRegular performances are Saturday\, April 18th at 2:00 PM\, Thursday\, April 23rd at 7:00 PM and Friday\, April 24th at 7:00 PM.
